OUR STORY

food with tradition

Fish & Fizz is a start-up premium, fine-casual, contemporary British Fish and Chip shop. Think of it as a hybrid of a fast casual and a chef driven restaurant.  Fish & Fizz features counter service, a great British tradition, the iconic "Fish and Chips".

 

This is food with a story, food with tradition, Britain's favourite dish and certainly the most iconic, first served back in the 1860's. Some credit a northern chap named John Lees for selling fish and chips out of a wooden hut in Mosely market in industrial Lancashire, others claim the first 'fish n chip' shop was opened by a Jewish immigrant, Joseph Malin within the sound of Bow Bells in East London around 1860.

Fast forward to 2019, our cod is responsibly sourced and sustainably caught in the deepest coldest Icelandic waters. It is of the highest possible quality, served with fat chips, alongside classic chip shop treats, tartar sauce, curry sauce, mushy peas, pickled eggs, pickled onions, malt vinegar, English sea salt, etc. 

 

Terrific fish and chips is our headline feature, along with some other innovative fish and shellfish dishes, plus great British favourites, including bangers & mash, bubble & squeak, etc., a great beverage programme all offered at a sensible price in a fun, ‘beach side’ atmosphere. 

 

We're bringing a bit of seaside to the city, without the seagulls!
